Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about using Commentsell to turn your social media into a sales channel.

Customers comment on your Facebook or Instagram post to reserve a product in a comment driven campaign. For example, they might comment "Reserve 2" to reserve 2 units. Our system automatically replies to confirm their reservation, tracks inventory, and sends them a pickup reminder. It's friction-free for customers since they don't need to download an app or create an account.

Commentsell currently supports Facebook Pages and Instagram Business accounts. We integrate with the Meta Business Suite to read comments and send automatic replies and DMs. Most stores use Facebook as their primary channel since it has higher engagement for local retail.

Customers come to your store during the pickup window you specify in your post. You'll have a list of all reservations in your Commentsell dashboard, which you can print or access on any device. Many stores set up a designated pickup area or keep reserved items behind the counter. When a customer arrives, you simply check off their reservation.

Our system sends automatic pickup reminders via DM to reduce no-shows. Most stores see pickup rates of 85-95%. For items that aren't picked up, you can simply return them to regular inventory or offer them to the next person on a waitlist. Over time, frequent no-shows can be flagged to help you manage expectations.

We offer three plans: Basic ($39/month), Pro ($99/month), and Pro+ ($199/month). Basic includes all core features like comment automation and DM notifications. Pro adds AI-powered tools like the Image Generator and AI Reservation Bot. Pro+ unlocks advanced features for high-volume stores. For stores that want a fully managed service, our Growth Partner plan ($1,999/month) includes a dedicated campaign strategist who handles everything for you. Enterprise pricing is available for chains. All plans are month-to-month with no long-term contracts.

Commentsell operates alongside your existing POS system. Reservations are tracked in our dashboard, and when customers pick up, you ring them up in your POS as usual. We don't handle payments β€” that stays in your existing checkout flow. Some stores use our export features to prepare inventory or cross-reference with their systems.

Automatic replies are sent within seconds of a customer commenting. This instant response is crucial for maintaining engagement and preventing customers from abandoning their reservation. The fast replies also help your post's visibility in the Facebook algorithm since high engagement signals quality content.

Fresh products (meat, seafood, produce, bakery) work incredibly well because of natural urgency and limited quantities. Seasonal items, limited editions, and doorbuster deals also perform great. Really, any product can work if you create urgency through limited stock or time-limited reservation windows. The key is offering genuine value that makes customers want to act fast.

Schedule a demo with our team and we'll walk you through the platform, show you real examples from similar stores, and help you plan your first campaign. Setup typically takes less than an hour. We'll connect your Facebook page, configure your automation settings, and have you ready to run your first deal.

No! Even stores with just a few hundred followers see great results because comment-based posts get high engagement and organic reach. When people comment and tag friends, your post gets shown to more people. We've seen stores grow their following 10x in a few months just from running engaging reservation campaigns.

Yes, you can block customers from making future reservations if they repeatedly don't pick up their orders or engage in inappropriate behavior. In your Commentsell dashboard, you can block specific Facebook users, which prevents them from reserving products in future campaigns. This helps protect your inventory and ensures a better experience for your other customers.

Some Facebook and Instagram users have privacy settings that prevent Commentsell from retrieving their name or sending them messages. The reservation is still created β€” you'll see the booking in your dashboard β€” but the customer appears without a name (e.g. "no name due to facebook rules"). If the customer reaches out, you can share the pickup details manually. The customer can also adjust their Facebook app privacy settings at https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=applications to allow Commentsell to access their info in future campaigns.
